Accessibility Statement

  • STEM-ED, Inc.
  • Last updated

STEM-ED wants every student, coach, parent, volunteer and sponsor to be able to use this site. We aim for it to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.

1What we do#

  • Pages use real headings, landmarks and labels, and every form field has a visible label and its own error message.
  • Every picture that carries information has a text alternative.
  • The site can be used with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator and a skip link to the main content.
  • Motion respects your device's reduced-motion setting: with it on, the animated 3D world is replaced by a still picture.
  • Rulebooks and guides are published as readable web pages, with a contents list and search, in addition to the original files.
  • Text and controls are designed for readable contrast, reflow on phone screens and when zoomed in, and do not depend on color alone.

2Known limits#

  • The flight game and the 3D world on the home page are visual and are not fully usable with a screen reader. Everything they teach is also described in text on the competition pages.
  • Some older documents in the archive are scans or files from earlier seasons and may not be fully accessible. We will provide any of them in an accessible format on request.
  • Pages from other services we link to, such as GiveLively and WaiverSign, are outside our control.

3Ask for help or report a problem#

If something on the site is hard to use, or you need information in another format, write to support@stemed.org or STEM-ED, Inc., 574 Parish Blvd., Mary Esther, FL 32569. Tell us the page and what happened. We aim to reply within five business days and to fix or provide an alternative as quickly as we can.
